Terms and Conditions for the Promotion "From Story to Film - Phase 2: Short Film Challenge" 1. Organizer Peliplat (hereinafter, the "Organizer") organizes this promotion named "From Story to Film" (hereinafter, the "Promotion"). 2. Participants All natural persons over the age of 18 who meet the conditions set forth in these Terms and Conditions (hereinafter, the "Participant" or "Participants") may participate in the Promotion. Participants in Phase 2 are also referred to as Filmmakers. 3. Duration The Promotion shall be valid from 02/08/2026 until 04/30/2026 inclusive. 4. Participation Mechanics 4.1. Participants must access www.peliplat.com and must select one of the winning stories from Phase 1 of the From Story to Film as the source material for their short film. Access to the website is free of charge. 4.2. Short Film Requirements A. The submitted work must be an original short film adaptation of the selected story. B. The film must not infringe on any third-party rights. C. All footage, performances, music, and visual materials must be legally cleared by the Filmmaker. D. English, Spanish, or Portuguese must account for 70%+ of dialogue (following Academy Awards international film standards). E. All films must have English subtitles regardless of the primary language. 4.3. All films must be submitted via YouTube link embedded within a Peliplat article that is thereby entered into the Phase 2 challenge portal. 4.4. The Organizer may disqualify any Participant in cases of fraud, plagiarism, misrepresentation, failure to disclose artificial intelligence use, or any conduct deemed in bad faith. 4.5. Only 1 (one) short film per Participant may be selected as a winner. 5. Selection of the Winners 5.1. Winners will be selected by guest judges appointed by the Organizer, based on artistic merit, adaptation quality, and alignment with Peliplat's editorial values. Judges' decisions are final and binding. 5.2. The announcement of the winners shall be made through our web at the end of the judging period (April 8-30). Once the Organizer determines the Participants entitled to the prizes, such Participants may not transfer the prize to any third party. To receive the prize, they must have fulfilled all the participation requirements of the Promotion. 5.3. The winning Participants must contact the Organizer within 15 days following the announcement, at which time they must provide their personal details (full name, email address, and any other necessary information for prize delivery). 5.4. Failure to claim the prize in the manner and within the deadlines established above, to verify identity, or to comply with any of the requirements set forth in these Terms and Conditions shall result in the potential winner automatically forfeiting the right to the prize, which shall be considered unawarded. If not awarded, the Organizer shall keep the prize. 6. Prizes 6.1. The winners shall receive the following monetary prizes: Best Film: $2,000 USD (20% will be shared with the original story author) Best Adaptation: $1,000 USD (20% will be shared with the original story author) Best Original Story: $1,000 USD (this will be paid only to the writer) 6.2. The prize cannot be exchanged for other goods or services unless determined by the Organizer. 6.3. The winners can claim their prize in USD via Paypal or Polygon Network. This payment method will apply to all winners, regardless of their country of residence. A brief identity verification may be requested to ensure the authenticity of the participant. Failure to submit this information within the specified timeframe will result in the disqualification of the winners and release the Organizer from any responsibility for not delivering the prize. 6.4. Delivery Time: The prize will be sent to the provided email address and/or phone number within a maximum of 5 business days once the information is verified. Responsibility: We are not responsible for errors in the e-mail address and/or phone number provided. It is essential that winners review and confirm that all information is correct before submitting it to the Organizer. 6.5. The winners shall be responsible for any costs, expenses, or fees related to the transfer or deposit of the prize to the winning Participants. 6.6. Any tax, fee, levy, charge, withholding, or similar (current or future) that must be paid or arises on or in relation to the prizes shall be the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Participants agree that monetary prizes may be subject to tax withholdings and, as such, shall be responsible for them, holding the Organizer harmless. 7. Content Rights, Ownership & Revenue Share 7.1. Ownership Filmmakers retain full ownership and copyright of their short films. 7.2. Platform License By submitting a film, Filmmakers grant the Organizer (Peliplat) a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, host, distribute, promote, publicly exhibit the short film on Peliplat and affiliated platforms. The Organizer may not sell or directly profit from any exploitation of the short films submitted to the competition. The Organizer acts solely as a distribution and display platform. 7.3. Persistence Once submitted and published on Peliplat, films may not be removed or deleted from the platform. 7.4. Revenue Share Filmmakers agree 20% of all future commercial earnings derived from the film will be paid to the original story author. Future commercial earnings include but aren't limited to: sales, licensing, streaming, broadcast, festival prizes, brand partnerships, remakes, derivate works. This obligation applies in perpetuity, regardless of distribution channel or jurisdiction. 7.5. Chain of Title & Warranties Filmmakers warrant that they hold all necessary rights to submit the film; the short film does not infringe on any third-party rights. Filmmakers agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from any legal claims. 7.6. Promotional Use Filmmakers grant the Organizer the right to use film excerpts, stills, trailers, names and likeness for promotional and marketing purposes, without additional compensation. 8. Liability 8.1. The Organizer shall not be liable for any technical failures or problems of any kind that may occur during the Promotion. 8.2. The Organizer shall not be liable or responsible for any production costs, legal disputes, distribution failures or technical issues. All production risks lie with the Filmmakers. 9. Personal Information The Organizer is committed to protecting the Participants' personal information. The personal information collected shall be used exclusively for the management of the Promotion and shall not be shared with third parties without prior consent from the Participants. If it is necessary to collect Participants' bank details for the delivery of monetary prizes, such data shall be requested with the explicit and informed consent of the Participants and shall be used solely for that purpose. The Organizer shall implement appropriate security measures to protect Participants' bank details against unauthorized access, alterations, loss, or unauthorized processing. Participants have the right to access, rectify, and request the deletion of their personal data at any time. 10. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions Participation in the Promotion implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. 11. Modification of Terms and Conditions The Organizer reserves the right to modify, expand, and/or clarify these Terms and Conditions at any time, including the suspension or cancellation of the Promotion, by duly notifying the Participants.
