There is no violence or gore in this movie. There is a scene where a nuclear cooling tower is imploded which damages the train tracks but that is as violent as it gets.

There is an early scene where the grown son asks his dad to toast a drink of bubbly with him because of his success. He takes a drink, then spits it out when the dad makes a comment. There are no drugs, smoking or other alcohol scenes.

There are some intense and frightening scenes once everyone realizes there are children on board a runaway train engine. There are several comedic reliefs during those scenes to ease anxiety.
