Men are seen smoking. A man brings out a tray with several drinks on it, and offers the boy ginger ale. It is not certain if there are alcoholic drinks present. They all toast the new year. The glasses appear to have the same liquid in them.

The whole movie is mildly scary. It is not likely that children under 6 would have any problems with any scenes. One man is seen to burn up, but this is mild. He falls into an empty swimming pool and then is seen as a burned-up stain. Later there are several more stains.
