Once Butch, Sandra, and her friends arrive at the beach in Cologne, he tells them as he's getting undressed, "I didn't bring a suit, so I guess I'm gonna have to go skinny dipping." Later on, when he is the only one in the water, he goes under and comes back up with his pants in his hand, asking the girls if they want to come in. Half of the girls laugh at this.

There is mild romance between Butch and Shirley in a few scenes.

Butch cheats several times throughout the film before he ends up being engaged with Sandy.

While Butch and Shirley are parked in the car, they kiss and lick each other on the neck. At one point Butch kisses and licks the part of Shirley's breast that is revealed.

Sandra's pajamas reveal most of her thighs.

Sandra kisses and talks to herself in the mirror, pretending that her reflection is Butch.

Butch violently kicks a door open and slams it behind him after being so upset.

The fight between Butch and Lenny resulted from Shirley being told she has a slimy jacket.

At least a couple uses of "what the hell" and "damn".

Butch says he can't be seen with Sandy and her friends because they're "ugly". Later when Butch and Sandy are on their way back home late at night, she cries and repeats this about herself.

Sandra says "Oh brother" twice during the film, first out of disgust, and the second time out of annoyance.

Butch is occasionally seen smoking. In one scene he offers Sandy and her friends a cigarette, and everyone except Sandy accepts the offer.

Major tells Butch if he comes inside the house he'll let him have a beer.

Butch jokingly warns Sandy and her friends about a snake in the ground.

Butch and Sandy come up to a stone on the ground, and Butch asks if someone was buried there.

Throughout the film there is a kid who is paralyzed and must be in a wheelchair at all times. A few other people are seen pushing this boy around.

Because Butch was speeding in his Cadillac, he, Sandy, and her friends find themselves on the run from the police.

When Butch is speeding in his car, Sandy and her friends are worried that they will die.
