A young girl comes upon a man sitting in a field masturbating. She (and the viewer) only sees arm motion from behind; no nudity.

The girl spies a nude man and woman resting in a barn, implicitly after sex. No private parts are visible. Later we see the same couple again, and the man's bare butt is visible.

A woman mentions that she is pregnant and doesn't know who the father is.

A character cheats on their partner.

An inappropriate kiss occurs.

A character is murdered.

An animal is slaughtered for food, with some visible blood and gore.

Some stories narrated by the girl, and some written by the farmhand, sound depressing and hint at thoughts of suicide.

No swearing, as English subtitled. The young girl is called "weird" by a kid and by an adult.

Cigarettes are smoked a couple of times. Adults drink beer at a festival. The farmhand drinks from a flask, gets drunk, and eventually passes out.

A couple of scenes are emotionally intense. The life lesson apparently learned by the young girl may be distressing.
