There is highly stylized, nonsexual nudity in both the opening sequence of the show as well as recurring transformation sequences. Similarly to most magical girl transformation sequences, only the outlines of girls' bodies/breasts are briefly visible as they transform.

Some female characters wear skin-tight/cleavage-baring outfits as they fight.

There is some infrequent mild innuendo and flirtation played for laughs; a girl is teased about her innocence and told that another girl is tempted to take advantage of her.

Frequent moderate fantasy violence and threat. Lots of fantasy creatures are punched, kicked, and split in half with weapons, but simply explode when defeated.

There are some occasional more realistic depictions of violence against humans, sometimes with bloody injury detail. We sometimes see characters fall and lie in a pool of blood, or a character covered in blood after a fight.

Infrequent use of mild coarse language ('damn', 'hell') in the official subtitles.

The character of Tsubasa is quite a tragic one in the series. Ever since Kanade's death in the very first episode, the show portrays her as stoic, and quite cold towards Hibiki, due to her having to be a less experienced Symphogear user, and having to be Kanade's replacement. It's not until the fourth episode that it's revealed that Tsubasa gave up being like other girls so that she could continue her duty as a Symphogear user. Her tragic story and personality may upset viewers.

The start of the first episode can get quite intense. Hibiki just wants to go to a concert hosted by Tsubasa and Kanade, but the Noise go and ruin it, and kill civilians. While Tsubasa and Kanade do defeat most of the enemies in their Symphogears, Hibiki gets caught in the fight, and gets a very horrible and bloody wound, so Kanade sacrifices herself and dies in Tsubasa's arms. The entire scene can quite disturbing for viewers.
