The series focuses on the Roman wars with the Barbarians, so as you could expect, there is a lot of fighting. It can be rather graphic at times. Stabbing, hacking, throat slicing and beheadings. Episode 4 has one especially disturbing scene where a druid cuts a man's chest open, and lets his insides fall into an urn.
