The small town of Flåklypa is experiencing great lack of snow, which is why the inventor Reodor Felgen is asked to create a snow machine. However, things does not go as planned.

With Nolan the Magpie as the brave astronaut, what could possibly go wrong? Quite a bit, actually - on the daring mission, secret passengers are discovered, hidden agendas are revealed, and nothing seems to work out the way it was planned. Nolan and his friend Louis the Hedgehog are in for some surprises on their trip to the moon. This is the third film in the stop-motion trilogy featuring the beloved characters from the Flaklypa universe.

100 miles north, a bit east and up, is Flåklypa... home of bicycle repairman Reodor Felgen and his two assistants - Solan Gundersen, morning bird and natural born optimist, and Ludvig who is a true pessimist. Gurin the gnome loves to play tricks on others. In spite of several warnings he just can't help himself, and one morning he wakes up with a foxtail as punishment. Rumors of his fabulous tail soon reach the capital, and the widow Stengelføhn-Glad tries to hire private detective Solan Gundersen to find Gurin. She wants to be the envy of her upper-class friends by owning the luxurious foxtail. But Solan and his sidekick Ludvig doesn't want to see Gurin come to harm. And after refusing the assignment they set out to find the gnome before the widow does.
