The Durango Kid Collection

Bill Lowry returns just as his father is killed. He suspects Ballard and in the guise of the Durango Kid, starts robbing him. He gives the money to the burned out homesteaders but Ballard catches Nancy with the money. Ballard suspects Lowry is the Kid and tells him he has retrieved the money. Thinking the Kid will try to get the money back, he sets a trap for him.

The outlaw gangs are robbing the railroads and the Rangers cannot follow them when they move to New Mexico. So Kip decides to take a vacation to New Mexico and, as the Durango Kid, bring Cass and his gang back to justice. But Cass and his gang are killed at the bank in a double cross and Kip must still find the loot. For this, he enlists the help of Tex and Grubstake, although Grubstake does not know it.

Falsely accused of robbing the army payroll, Steve hopes to clear his name with the help of Tom Jarvis, but finds Tom dead. He soon finds that Tom's brother was also killed and Mary Ann now runs the ranch. Tredway is trying to get Mary Ann to sell the ranch, but Steve wants her to keep it until he finds out why someone wants it and who robbed the payroll.

Bringing in a supply of goods, Steve has them hijacked. The Doctor is behind the hijacks and offers to act as a middleman and return the goods for a fee. He has doped up the Sheriff to keep him out of the way and now tries the same on Steve. But Smiley had earlier used the Doc's medicine in an experiment and replaced it with water and this gives the Durango Kid a chance to go into action.

It's 1873 and the disbanded Texas Rangers have been replaced by the corrupt Texas State Police. Steve Lanning arrives posing as a wanted outlaw to get in with them in his attempt to have them replaced. His inside work helps the Durango Kid break up the State Police raids but he is in trouble when his secret identiy as Durango becomes known to them.

Ace Brockway is trying to drive Matt Carter out of business by having Indians attack his trading posts. Steve Blake arrives and gets appointed Deputy to the inept Marshal Smiley Burnette. First he foils Brockway's attempt to supply rifles to the Indians. Then he has the Editor print that Carter has $20,000 in his safe. He figures Brockway will make an attempt to get it and the Durango Kid will be ready.

Government agent Steve Brooks, secretly the Durango Kid, rides to the border town of San Feliz after a gang smuggling silver from Mexico. All trails lead to the Lazy Zee ranch run by Betty Long, whose uncle has been killed in a mysterious manner in the ranch house cellar. Ranch cook Smiley Burnette is certain the cellar is haunted. Steve, alternating between his own identity and the Durango Kid, learns that Federal Attorney Thomas Hadley, is mixed up with the smugglers. Steve's government agent identity is discovered and Hadley and his partner Martin try to kill him. He escapes and soon discovers that the ring leader of the gang is Angel, a seemingly sweet old lady, who supposedly has been confined to be and taken care of by Betty because her late husband was once foreman of the Lazy Zee.

A major Indian uprising is expected and Wyoming military posts are alerted. Colonel Dennison (Fred Sears) is meeting with Chief Eagle (Shooting Star) and his son Running Wolf (Jay Silverheels) when Chief Eagle is mysteriously shot. Steve Holden (Charles Starrett), an agent for the government peace commission, with the aid of a wandering shoemaker, Smiley (Smiley Burnette), discover the troubles and the Chief's murder have been instigated by Cronin (Bob Wilke), the regimental scout, for personal gain for he and his gang of outlaws.

Old Mike Brady built Brady Town and was a leader, but a bullet from an unknown assailant has ended his life. When the will is read, it leaves the bulk of the property to Kirk, the gambling son of Mike. This upsets Sam, the hard working son, but not gambler Full House who always beats Kirk at cards. But even the Sheriff is suspicious of the will, but he needs proof and the Durango Kid will find the proof.

Hatching a scheme to sell rifles to the Indians as a protection against the white settlers, Jim Haverly (Monte Blue) works both sides against the middle by having his henchmen masquerade as Indians and raid the settlers. With the ranchers preparing for retribution against the Indians, Haverly's plan is working well until Steve Reynolds/The Durango Kid (Charles Starrett) shows up and, with the aid of a young white boy (Tommy Ivo) and his young Indian friend (Don Reynolds), and his bumbling sidekick Smiley (Smiley Burnette), begins the process of uncovering the actual villains.

Using marked bills, Steve is looking for the supposedly dead Henry Hardison. Coming to Bonanza Town he gets a job with the town boss Crag Bozeman and gets paid with marked bills. He suspects Hardison is Boseman's boss and he is right as Hardison and his men are now planning to get rid of both him and the Durango kid.

Markham and his men have found gold on the Indian reservation and are trying to get rid of them by starting an Indian war. Dressed as Indians they are attacking the soldiers. Steve Holden is the Indian agent sent to prevent a war. After finding proof that white men posing as Indians were responsible, he is able to locate the gang's hideout but quickly becomes a prisoner slated to be killed.

Steve Holden arrives looking for his old friend Big Jack only to find he runs the town and is greatly disliked. However the cause of the conflict is Big Jack's chief henchman Fulton. Steve becomes Sheriff and he and the Durango Kid then battle Fulton as he goes after the miner's gold.

It is Texas in 1875 and Kirby's gang continues to rob the stage. But now, the Durango Kid, robs Kirby's gang and returns the money to Mrs. Bancroft of the stage line. After that, he foils or robs the gang every time they try to make a heist. But Bill is really looking for evidence to clear the name of his dead father, the real Durango Kid.

Jeff Waring (Charles Starrett) and his friends Tex Harding (Tex Harding) and Cannonball (Dub Taylor) become involved in the affairs of two rival stagecoach lines, one of them headed by Mary Halliday (Carole Mathews) whose father (Nolan Leary) has been murdered by the gang of the rival line, Forrest Brent(Al Bridge. She is unaware of this, and hinders rather than helps the Durango Kid (Charles Starrett) and his friends in their attempts to expose Brent and his gang.

Suspended from the Secret Service pending investigation of his rumored activities as the Durango Kid, Steve Buckner (Charles Starrett) heads west to the Texas Panhandle, where he learns renegades have attacked settler wagon trains and have stolen government gold. In Crow Springs, he finds out that Ace Gatlin (Forrest Taylor) is running a land office under suspicious circumstances with Ann Williams (Nanette Parks) innocently serving as his assistant. As the Durango Kid, Steve learns about the fraudulent land swindles and that Gatlin's men stole the gold.
