An American journalist travels throughout the world in search of a good story by joining a modern-day harem and traveling to Venice to see what really goes on at diplomatic parties. While trying to expose a corrupt government official, Emanuelle stumbles upon a group that uses kidnapped girls to make and sell snuff films. A brush with death leaves Emanuelle wondering if it is perhaps time to hang up her camera for good.

Emanuelle goes undercover into a prison to expose the corrupted officials who are brutalizing the inmates. Emanuelle is shocked by the horrors and humiliation the prisoners are subjected to, but when her true identity is discovered, she finds herself at the receiving end.

Emanuelle, a reporter, comes just a little too close to exposing a corrupt official, and is sent to prison on trumped-up charges. In the prison, the inmates are constantly humiliated and tortured by the prison staff. Overly affectionate prisoners are forced underwater, while others are obliged to look on. Emanuelle finds an enemy in the deranged Albina, who "runs the prison." For the pleasure of the warden, Emanuelle and Albina are forced to fight each other with knives. Bad becomes worse when four men awaiting execution escape and take over the prison. Gore flows like water.

While attempting to interview an elusive gangster, photojournalist Emanuelle notices a man pushing a girl in a wheelchair through the airport. Later, in another country she sees the same man and the girl up and walking. Intrigued, she does a bit of investigating and uncovers an organization dealing in the buying and selling of young women. She goes undercover into the organization but finds that getting out again could cost her her career...and her life.

Famous undercover journalist Emanuelle teams with her friend Cora Norman to uncover a white slave ring that traffics in women kidnapped from various locales around the world. Her investigations leaves plenty of time, however, for globe-trotting and bed-hopping. As each lead turns up bad, Emanuelle begins to wonder if she can ever put an end to this horrible slavery ring.

While doing undercover work in a mental hospital, Emanuelle discovers a girl who seems to have been raised by a tribe of amazonian cannibals. Intrigued, Emanuelle and friends travel deep into the Amazon jungle, where they find that the supposedly extinct tribe of cannibals is still very much alive, and Emanuelle and her party are not welcome visitors.

In her first onscreen adventure, journalist/photographer Mae Jordan (known to her readers as "Emanuelle") travels to Africa on assignment. Questions of her own racial and sexual identity come to a head as she observes the troubled marriage of her hosts, Ann and Gianni Danieli. Matters are complicated further when Emanuelle finds herself in affairs with both of them, after which she flees Africa, only to be pursued by Gianni, who had earlier rejected her and ridiculed her advances.

International cover girl, Emmanuelle Richmond Morgan, is in a clinic near Manhattan suffering memory loss. Her physician, Paul, a Freudian, pays her special attention, making his wife jealous. He interviews Emmanuelle daily, asking her to record memories on tape. He interviews a photographer with whom she worked, her father, and her husband, from whom she's been separated two years. Her memories of each of them differ sharply from their own. In flashbacks we see both versions. Gradually her memories clear as she parties with another patient, Paul's niece Sharon. Besides Emmanuelle's memory block, is everyone else telling the truth? Can Paul help her remember and heal?

Renouncing her sinful past, Emanuelle has entered a convent and has dedicated herself to a life of service. Enter Monica, the free-spirited, free-loving daughter of a wealthy Baron. Emanuelle is charged with keeping Monica in line, but when the young girl's wild ways bring back memories of her own sensual past, Emanuelle begins questioning her own religious and sexual identity. Advances from an escaped killer who is hiding in the convent serve to complicate matters further.

Emanuelle hosts this peculiar sexploitation Mondo film that looks at several examples of bizarre sexual behavior. Opening with a sexual mystic ceremony, it moves on to views of modern night club, including a woman trying to seduce a mule into bestiality. An unorthodox penile enlargement operation is shown, plus lesbian sex championships. Outside of the modern world, there is footage of a boar slaughtering in New Guinea interspersed with scenes of sex. Like many Mondo films, most of this footage is staged, but still provides a fascinating view into Italian exploitation cinema.

Journalist Emanuelle travels to the Orient to interview a close relative of a King, but comes too close to uncovering official secrets for the state's liking. Her hotel room is ransacked and her passport stolen, leaving her stranded and at the mercy of a brutal gang of rapists, employed by the government. Her only hope of escape are her powers of seduction.

Main scenes: a stripper disrobes her safari outfit and performs with a man in a gorilla costume; another stripper performs with a couple of dogs; in Amsterdam, a prostitute disrobes on a street window, then invites one man in for a free session; in Paris, there's a place showing nude roller-skating, and nude mud wrestling; in Denmark, Mandrake the magician transforms his sexy female assistant into a hermaphrodite; an adulterous African couple is punished by genital mutilation and decapitation; in Amsterdam, there is a brothel where so called taxi-mothers prostitute their daughters; in a sex club, women behind a screen have anal sex with unseen men who could be their husbands; in New Guinea, natives rip the head off of a virgin chicken in a bloody ritual; in Hong Kong, an all-girl nightclub with female strippers; Great Omar puts on a show for hundreds of screaming female fans, who boo him after he tires after bedding about 24 women on stage; and a woman inserts ping-pong balls up her vagina, and plops them out.
