Albert is smitten for Pola but ends up wrongly committed in jail, in the meantime her affections are sought after by his friend, and on his release both love and friendship must be tested.

-A feature film on the male condition, "L'homme renversé" exposes the weakness of the strong sex. Men try to express their reality, but it is not easy to "put your bibites on the table". Thus, their word is first of all a lie. And the violence of repressed feelings is matched by the violence of gestures. With humour and tenderness, this film confronts men with fundamental themes: fatherhood, friendship, relationships with women, a sense of responsibility and, above all, the dangerous sexuality of the male. Would men finally be ready to say to each other?

The hero is a retired army officer in the period of transition in Romania from the Communist rule to democracy. As many aged people during these times he loses a lot in position and material situation and is too aged to adapt and start building something from zero. His last resort is the family, but his home and family is also slowly decomposing under the pressure of the times. His elder son dies in a stupid home accident (the film starts with his funeral), than his only other child, a daughter moves to America in the search of a better material life. His life seems to fall under the control of his in-law, a mercantile and much better adapted man, who slowly seems to deprive him not only of his children, but also of his pride and human dignity. The violent end is unexpected, although typical for the Pintilie's movies, but if you look back and reflect on what you've seen on screen, everything before was a logical building of the end.

For many ballplayers, having a wall as a practice partner was a training tool almost taken for granted. Over the years, however (with the advent of ball machines, etc.), the wall as a place of practice seemed to go out of fashion, if not become almost obsolete. Gil de Kermadec of the French Tennis Federation, director of an exemplary series of films on tennis (McEnroe, Borg, Evert, Connors), here sets out with Torben Ulrich in a two-fold approach, asking many past champions (Lacoste, Laver, Navratilova, Rosewall, Nastase) about their experiences with the wall, as well as looking into a variety of techniques that could extend the possibilities for practice and play.
