Rough Riders Collection

Scully has forced Joe Collins who works on the Garcia ranch to give him information so his men can steal the family jewels. But the Rough Riders are on the job. Buck poses as a wanted outlaw to get into the gang, Tim as a cattle buyer, and Sandy is collecting information as the saloon janitor. As usual they pretend not to know each other.

Trapped in a burning cabin by ex-cons Fulton and Howard, Roberts has his horse Silver drag him to safety. He then joins McCall and Hopkins as they go after Fulton, Howard, and their boss Cramer.

The Rough Riders are called in to help save Master's stage line. Taggart has his gang robbing the stages and shooting the drivers. When Buck drives the next stage, Taggart's men rob it and then make it look like Roberts is part of the gang.

In this entry of Monogram's "Rough Riders" series (no relationship to the dull TV series of the 50's), Ma Turner of Red Bluff sends for U.S. Marshal Buck Roberts to investigate a series of widespread rustling in the area. Town banker Miller, saloon-owner Duke Mason and the crooked sheriff are in cahoots with rancher John Holt, but they double cross and kill him. His son Steve witnesses the murder and kills the sheriff. Buck arrives and arrests Steve. Marshal Tim McCall, posing as an outlaw, gains the confidence of the gang and engineers the escape, with Buck's knowledge, of Steve from the jail. Sandy Hopkins, the third Marshal of the trio, poses as a peddler and learns that the gang intends to do away with Buck and rides to the Turner ranch to warn him. Red, a Turner ranch hand but also a member of the gang, overhears Buck telling Ma that Tim is really a U.S. Marshal, and he has Miller and Mason informed.

Marshall Tim McCall is called in from Wyoming when two lawmen friends of his are murdered in cold blood. The two marshals were on the trail of a desperado and followed him to a deserted ghost town. Unfortunately the town is inhabited not by supernatural spirits, but by a gang of vicious outlaws headed by a ruthless thug named Ace. McCall is joined by fellow marshals Sandy Hopkins Buck Roberts, who feigns amnesia when he comes to town, but the town has additional visitors: pretty and spunky Josie Hall, who wants to visit her aunt and brother living in an old dark mansion in the area, ranch foreman Tom Cook, who is attracted to Josie but doesn't seem to be foreman of anything, Pawnee, an enigmatic Indian, and Judge Crail,, a larcenous crook who wants to gain control of the deserted gold mine running underneath the property. The grounds of the ramshackle town and the spooky mansion are honeycombed with interconnecting tunnels and passageways, which present the Rogh Riders with one of their greatest challenges.

The sixth film of Monogram's eight-film series, "The Rough Riders," has U. S. Marshals Buck Roberts (Buck Jones) and Tim McCall (Tim McCoy) coming to a Texas town to visit their friend, U. S. Marshal Sandy Hopkins (Raymond Hatton), only to learn that he has disappeared, and is suspected of the murder of John Dodge (Jack Daley), owner of practically the whole town, except the hotel Sandy owns and runs when he isn't on an assignment as a Marshal. The murder has been committed by the henchmen of Bart Logan (Harry Woods), who intends to take over the dead man's property and whose men are holding Sandy prisoner to make it appear that he fled after arguing with and killing Dodge. Just before the murder, Logan sent a letter to Dodge with the news that the latter's long-missing wife is returning, and in a short while, Stella (Lois Austin), a Logan accomplice, arrives posing as the missing Ann Dodge, thus establishing her right to the Dodge property. Sandy, allowed to escape, returns unsuspectingly to town and is jailed by Sheriff Trump (Glenn Strange). Mary (Luana Walters), Sandy's niece, appeals for help to Dave Dodge (Dave O'Brien), the murdered man's son, who doesn't know his mother since she left when he was a baby. Meanwhile, Tim has taken charge of the town under his authority as a U.S. Marshal, and Buck, pretending to be a fugitive criminal, has worked his way into the Logan gang. Locating a photograph of the real Mrs. Dodge, he confronts Logan with the picture, who confesses the plot. Buck immediately arrests the whole gang, but Logan escapes. Dave traps him in an old mine, where he is captured by Buck and Tim.

In the 8th (and last) entry in the Scott R. Dunlap-produced "Rough Riders" series for Monogram, the town of Gold Creek is in turmoil due to the hi-jacking of gold. Newspaper editor Rufus Tood is going to publish the fact that a dying miner accused Rand and Ludlow of being his attackers. John Corbett, the town's leading citizen and Todd's supposed friend, but in reality the man behind the gang, has Todd's presses wrecked. The latter sends for U.S. Marshal Buck Roberts, who stops a holdup of miner Ray Mason, carrying gold in a wagon, and brings the wounded Ray to town and secretes the wagon. Marshals Tim McCall, posing as a preacher, and Sandy Hopkins, posing as an undertaker, have also arrived in town. The coffins Sandy brings contain a new printing press for Todd. With the aid of his daughter Julie, Todd puts out an edition naming Rand and Ludlow as crooks and demanding the name of the man behind the crimes. The crooks identify Buck as the man who took the gold wagon from them, and Buck, posing as an outlaw, makes a deal with them to deliver the gold to the ring leader. They have other plans, however.

The Rough Riders are after a gang of rustlers. Marshal Roberts is posing as a wanted outlaw, McCall is the Marshal supposedly after him, and Sandy is on hand as a cook. Roberts hopes his joining the gang will help bring them in.
