Simon Templar, the Saint, is brought to New York. His search for the identity of "the Big Fellow" takes him through many dangerous situations.

The Saint, newly back in London, is tipped by a friend in the Secret Service to a mystery involving one Bruno Lang, seemingly a Society card-sharp, but really involved in a plot to print and pass a million pounds worth of foreign currency. Also involved are various sinister characters; innocent victim Count Duni; the Saint's attractive admirer Penny Parker; and his old nemesis Inspector Teal.

Fernack tries to get Simon arrested as he returns home from a Transatlantic European vacation in order to help old friend and World War I hero Peter Johnson travel safely to Palm Springs in order to deliver $200,000, which has been converted into three rare stamps, to his daughter. While Simon is protecting him in New York, Johnson is murdered in his own apartment, but the killer is unable to get the stamps. The Saint brings them himself to the resort but is assaulted by a gang of foreign agents who steal the stamps. Johnson's beautiful daughter Elna doesn't believe Simon's story but gives him 24 hours to get them back before reporting him to the California authorities. Along with old friend Pearly Gates, a reformed pickpocket turned hotel house detective, they sift through many red herrings to uncover the stamps and the murderer.

A disgraced policeman's daughter in San Francisco is busy acquiring a name for herself as a crime boss in her own right. But when Simon Templar helps her get away after a shooting in a night-club and subsequently chooses to bring down his old acquaintance Inspector Fernack from New York, the question as to who is on which side of the law becomes increasingly confused -- especially when the vital evidence, in the shape of eighty thousand stolen dollars, spends most of the film in the Saint's pocket!

Simon has arranged to send a rare mummy of a pharaoh from Cairo to Phildelphia to his good friend, Keystone University archeology professor Horatio Bitts, whose beautiful daughter does not escape The Saint's attention. Ruthless gang leader Duke Bates, known as "The Boss," is a dead ringer for Simon and a notorious jewel smuggler who uses the mummy to disguise a cache of illegal diamonds. After Bates murders a shady jewel cutter and the professor, Simon finds himself under suspicion... even by his old friend, Inspector Fernack.

The Saint plays a "modern-day Robin Hood" in order to clear his friend, Henry Fernack, who was framed by mobsters. They run into a series of murders.

An otherwise innocuous-looking music box is the coveted macguffin that provokes treachery, robbery, torture, murder, and a chase across the Continent involving one of Simon Templar's greatest nemeses, Rudolph Hauser. "The Saint" is aided by amiable sidekick Monty Hatward and spunky girl reporter Mary Langdon.

A man murdered at the Saint's doorstep manages to utter a few words to Simon Templar before he dies, sending him off to the quaint resort village of Baycombe where he confronts crime mastermind 'The Tiger' and his gang as they plan to smuggle gold bullion out of the country.

A private detective goes after the people who murdered his girlfriend.
