Children's screams are an essential source of electricity, so in order to power the city, monsters have to scare them as their job. However, the children are considered toxic. When one of them escapes, two monsters realize things may not be what they think.

Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. "Sully" Sullivan (John Goodman) are an inseparable pair, but that wasn't always the case.
