Spessart Collection

Countess Franziska is "kidnapped" by a band of robbers. However, her father is not willing to pay the ransom, so Franziska changes sides.

Charlotte inherits from her father a dilapidated castle near the small German town Bonn. The castle is encumbered with debt; most of the inventory is pledged. Five ghosts who live in the castle, former robbers in the Spessart forests, decide to help her, but their unconventional methods bring Charlotte in trouble.

The countess is married, and the ghosts are still in the Spessart. Her husband becomes an astronaut and the story involving time and space traveling starts.
